Just a Little About Me

Carolina Soap Company is a relatively new business but that doesn't mean that I am new to my craft. We were formly known as Miranda's Collection but decided to expand our business this year (January 2010) to more accurately describe our services and goods. We are a home-based business located in historic downtown Winnsboro, SC.
I  make soap totally from scratch the way our grandmother's used to in the 'ole days! Using both the cold-processed and hot-processed methods of soap making! Mixing oils and butters with lye and water to make soap. That means no pre-made base we know exactly what goes into our soap and onto our skin. No fillers or alcohol or anything that dries out your skin.
I also carry a collection of items that I, Miranda, enjoy and that collection, needless to say, is always growing. I've always loved handmade items because the crafter can determine so many elements themselves. You know exactly what you put into your products. And you just can't find the same quality in the stores.
My dream of owning my own store started in 2004. My husband and I opened a store (brick and mortar) selling accessories for the home and body on Main St. in downtown Winnsboro. When we decided to close that store, I knew that I still wanted to be my own boss soooo...being the entrepreneur that I am I wanted to find out just "how" to make some of my own products and cut out the middle man. One thing led to another and I researched making candles and air fresheners. I've always loved buying candles and handmade soaps from crafters at flea markets and craft fairs. Well the response to my new venture was so good in order to support my hobby I started renting a space at a craft market, selling by word of mouth, and selling at the flea market. In 2007 I added soaps...and now...well I have a whole line. My family and friends have been very supportive---they have allowed me to test so many products on them:-) Now when things get really busy  they are in the kitchen helping to mix and whip up products. We basically are a "mom and pop" shop with the occasional help from family and friends. We have so much fun creating and naming products it's just good to love the work that you do. I hope that you enjoy using your products as much as we enjoy making them.
In order to keep the cost low and the quality high we are now only an online store. So if you have any questions about your order, send me an e-mail at: carolinasoapco@yahoo.com or contact us with the form on the contact us page from my website and I'll respond asap.

I have tried to adjust the shipping on the website so that it's as accurate as possible, but we know how computers work. So if you think your shipping is wrong send me an e-mail or call before you complete your order. We ship using the US Postal Service. In a flat rate shipping box for $10.95 I can pack 8 bars of soap maybe more and consider a couple of dollars for bubble wrap and packaging material. Our soaps have cured for a minimum of 6 weeks. So we only have listed what's ready to sell.
As of now we only accept paypal payments or you can mail a money order or check and we'll ship your box when we receive the payment. If you don't have a paypal account it's really easy to set up-- you can use your debit card, credit card, or bank account.

Kindest Regards,

Yvette

I LOVE what I do and I hope you do too!!
